We have read that the heart is deceitfully at all times and desires that which is not good for us. In the heart that is when men's emotions are stored, retrieved and processed.Your heart can decide to love or hate anyone.
When Jesus wanted to heal a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath day, Jesus was grieved because of the hardness of their hearts. He knew what they were communing in their hearts. Moved by compassion for the man, He healed him. In other areas we know that He departed because they were full of unbelief.He went to heal and deliver those who were ready to accept Him.
He said what you eat and drink does not defile you but the things that come out of your mouth because they are stored in the heart eg envy, jealousy, strife, immorality etc.He also taught us to seek the kingdom of heaven first and all things will be added unto us. Why is it that we dont seem to get breakthroughs when we pray? I think it is because our hearts have unbelief and doubt like the Pharisees and Saducees and we are hard hearted to allow a miracle to be done in our life.
As we are seeking the kingdom, are we not seeking it in our terms.Are we ready to accept that Christ is the One, the Son of God or we are not able to handle the miracles. Maybe Jesus has left us already because of the hardness pf our hearts.If Jesus were to raise someone in your family from the dead, will you believe it is His Power?
