Bless your children

Isaac had two sons Jacob and Esau who were different in many ways. Jacob was a tent-dweller, he loved being nearer the family chasing after shadows and getting the latest grapevine. On the other hand, Esau was a hunter, a man of the wild.It is said Isaac favoured Esau because he loved game meat but maybe the other reason might be that Jacob spent too much time at home nagging his father.

Then the time for Isaac to die drew near, and he sent for Esau to bring a savoury meal for the last time so that he may bless him. Rebecca his wife knew the importance of this blessing, so he sent for Jacob to steal the blessing.

You see there is something about blessing your children, pronouncing good things on their lives and not cursing them.Open your mouth and declare like Isaac. Even the patriach Jacob followed suit and blessed his sons even those who were trouble makers. Remember his sons were already grown with families, but he was not just blessing them but the generations to come(Genesis 45).

God blessed Abraham to be the father of many nations because he was a man of faith. If you are a man or a woman of faith, begin to open your mouth today and speak a blessing on your generation.Psalm45 v 1 says 'my tongue is inditing a good matter, I speak of things pleasing unto the King'.

Open your mouth O child of God and bless your children and your generation today. As you bless them may the peace of God rest upon you and your family in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth Amen.
